Inspired by the pleasure gardens of the Victorian period this piece has a black felt background covered with white wool and maroon lace. It is heavily stitched in black around the edges and in white over the lace.
It shows a view of a pleasure garden as well as the artistic layout of one of its parts with brightly coloured glass beads at one edge, pearly white beaded thread at another and a white cotton lace flower with a black bead nestled in the centre
